A cast iron British road sign for "Penny Lane," the street in Liverpool, England, which became the inspiration for the hit song of the same name by The Beatles, based on Paul McCartney's childhood memories.
The signs are no longer being used in the streets due to theft and vandalism, and were replaced so often, and over such a long period of time, that the style of these signs changed through the years. The heavy original red L18 letters were only made for the street.
9 x 15 inches and weighs 15 lbs.
